As our hospital continues to expand and our staff increases in size, HMSL remains committed to fostering the positive employee culture we all appreciate. In an effort to provide additional opportunities for employee participation and recognition, the Employee Activities Committee (EAC) has been restructured and a new committee is being formed.
Formerly a committee of volunteers, EAC members will now be appointed. A select group of employees who demonstrate excellence in all they do will be chosen by management and invited to join the committee. EAC members will be recognized for serving on the committee and membership will rotate annually to allow for additional employees to participate.
The EAC’s purpose is to plan and promote fun and meaningful activities that enhance and sustain employee morale. Some of our most popular hospital-wide celebrations have been coordinated by the EAC, including the Annual Chili Cook-Off, National Hospital Week, Independence Day, Pumpkin Carving Contest and Holiday Party. These activities and more are slated for 2016.
All EAC activities are designed to strengthen inter-departmental relationships, engage in new and fun endeavors together, connect with the community and
come together to support a worthy cause. They create an important bond and help us feel more connected to one another. And that’s the ongoing goal for our growing and ever-changing HMSL family.
Thank you to everyone who served on the EAC in 2015 and for your commitment to making HMSL a better place to work.
If you are interested in volunteering at any future employee event in 2016, please contact EAC Chair Rashna Barge at SL-EAC@houstonmethodist.org.
