HMSL has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: StrokeSM Honor Roll Elite. The award recognizes our commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to national standards and recommendations.
We’ve developed a comprehensive system for rapid diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients admitted to the Emergency Department. This includes always being equipped to provide brain imaging scans, having neurologists available to conduct patient evaluations and using clot-busting medications when appropriate.
This award recognizes:
- Achieving 85% or higher compliance with all seven Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Achievement Measures for two or more consecutive years (Gold)
- Achieving 75% or higher compliance with five or more Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Quality Measures for one or more consecutive years (Plus)
- Achieving door-to-needle times of 60 minutes or less in at least 75% of eligible acute ischemic stroke patients (Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite)
