Magnet Mondays – Quality of Nursing Leadership

January 15, 2018:  Over the next 14 weeks we are going to take a deep dive into the 14 Forces of Magnetism and how they apply to Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital.  My goal is to familiarize you with the common Magnet terms so that you can recognize them in your own and other’s practice.  These apply to all of us, no matter what our role is.

Magnet Force 1:  Quality of Nursing Leadership.  Today’s healthcare environment requires nursing and healthcare leaders to lead our organization where they need to be to meet the demands of the future.  This requires vision, influence, strong clinical expertise and innovative solutions.  Our outcomes are transparent and available to anyone who wishes to review them on Leap Frog or Hospital Compare. We have very knowledgeable patients and families who demand the best care.  This is coupled with shrinking reimbursement.  Transformational leadership is required to transform our hospital to meet future demands because we are committed to providing unparalleled service, safety, quality and innovation.
