Magnet-recognized organizations are involved in partnerships with community organizations. Every year HMSL collaborates with Fort Bend/Sugar Land Exchange Clubs and the Sugar Land Rotary to provide free flu shots to all community members who participate in Santa’s Gift Exchange to benefit local children in Fort Bend County. HMSL also participates in sponsoring Christmas wish lists for at-risk children through the Fort Bend Rainbow Room. In December 2015, HMSL departments donated more than 400 gifts to 86 children identified by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. HMSL also hosts a Cancer survivor’s day, as well as numerous n
on-profit fundraising events for organizations including the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse, Fort Bend Women’s Center, Donate Life Texas, Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure, Texana, Rainbow Room, Mental Health America, Second Mile Mission, Child Advocates of Fort Bend and Literacy Council of Fort Bent, to name a few.
