May 15, 2017: Professional Development promotes competency and prepares all of us to implement patient and family centered care. Issac Bashevis Singer was a Polish-born American writer and Nobel Prize winner in Literature for his novels and short stories about Jewish life in Poland and the United States. One of his famous quotes states, “For those who are willing to make an effort, great miracles and wonderful treasures are in store.” Are you willing to make the effort to grow and develop professionally? What miracles and treasures are in store for you, your co-workers, patients and families if you do? It gives me great joy to receive an email or see a post in Chris’ Corner about those of you who have completed a degree, earned a certification, presented at a national conference or made an impact in a patient’s life. The little steps towards our own miracles and treasures can have a lasting and greater impact on others. Go make your miracles happen!
