February 26, 2018: Quality Improvement: Quality Improvement processes are perceived as educational and a way to improve the quality of care delivered in a Magnet® recognized organization. At Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, we use the FOCUS PDCA quality improvement methodology whenever there is a process that needs to be improved. Some examples of quality improvement projects here at HMSL are:
- Delayed bathing project (newborn nursery and NICU)
- Thermoregulation of the newborn (L&D, newborn nursery, NICU)
- Reducing Falls (Main 5 East)
- Reducing hospital onset clostridium difficile
