JANUARY 5, 2023 — 6W nurse Eric Legrue is the 34th HMSL recipient of the Daisy award. He was nominated by more than one patient for his wonderful bedside manner and personal care he gives patients. Here is what they said about him:
- First, this nurse is an extraordinary individual. While all the staff was really nice and unbelievable, he was extremely busy and being pulled in many directions with other staff coming in and asking him for things. Nonetheless, he spent a significant amount of time and assisted me with a long list of questions that I had about my condition. The time and personal care that he provided me showed he really cared about me and my personal treatment. He was thoughtful and was a very good communicator about my situation and my recovery. Besides the extreme level of care, he delivered several shots to my stomach that I didn’t even feel. I am in amazement, still, and this individual should be commended for his fine level of care and compassion with me.
- He has a good bedside manner and takes pride in his work for patients. Tells patients in detail what’s going on in a way they understand. He is very well-mannered with family and never too busy to talk to the family.
- He was great and explained everything I needed to know and put my health first by explaining in simple terms why I needed to do certain things. Eric, you are awesome and passionate about your patient’s well-being, which is rare. Thank you.
- He was my RN on Main 6W on August 18, 2022. He showed compassion in his concern for me and my health through his diligence and kind care. He should be commended for all the hours of work and devotion I was fortunate to have received. He is an A+ nurse!
- He is an exceptional nurse. He was very knowledgeable and caring, had great communication and was receptive to ideas to improve my dad’s care. Great charge nurse as well as he took care of my dad as his nurse. He was not afraid to text the doctors to update and get or change medications, etc. He was a great help in accessing the course of care to improve our outcome.
Eric was surprised by his wife, who celebrated with him, his team and senior leadership.
Thank you and congratulations, Eric!
