On Oct. 5 we will launch our 2022 Employee Opinion Survey after foregoing last year’s annual survey due to COVID-19. The theme of this year’s EOS is “Your Voice Matters,” and the survey will run through Oct. 26. Much has changed these past few years as a result of the pandemic, and it’s vitally important that you share your opinion of work with us. Your voice has the power to influence our strategic focus as we begin the next chapter in our history. On a more localized level, your voice also can shape changes in your own department. The results of past surveys have positively affected your pay, have helped us improve patient safety and service, and have even helped us improve communications throughout the organization.
COVID-19 has affected health care organizations around the world, and we have not been immune. The pandemic has resulted in many changes at Houston Methodist, including a large infusion of new employees. We want to hear from both new and old employees. Remember, your responses will be anonymous. This is your opportunity to let us know what you think we’re doing right and where you think we have opportunities for improvement. Your opinion has the power to help us reach our goal of being truly unparalleled. It’s that important.
You will also have the opportunity to enter your name for a special prize drawing if you participate. We will have two drawings immediately after the first and second week of the survey with 65 winners per drawing. Winners will be able to choose from a variety of prizes valued at around $100. If we hit our goal of 85% participation by Oct. 26, 18 winners will get to select from an assortment of $400 prizes and one lucky employee will win $1,500 in cash! More details about how to access the survey will come soon from Human Resources.
Although we are still dealing with COVID-19, it’s imperative we keep planning for the future. I hope you’ll make your voice heard and help shape our future at Houston Methodist.

Ever since we have started with Daily Management there have been countless improvements made after the team voiced their suggestions. A project also started to prevent on the job injury after getting voice cards that had ideas on what can help positively change the workflow and department. I am proud to be a part of the HMSL family, where every single employee can feel comfortable enough to play a part in day to day operations and solutions. The rollout has not only connected us as a team but also the teams with multiples departments within the hospital, so that we can work fully together.
