APRIL 11, 2022 — It is April, which means baseball is in full swing!
This season comes with great news for the Houston Methodist System. In addition to serving as the Houston Astros’ official health care provider, Houston Methodist is now the official health care provider of the Sugar Land Space Cowboys. The Space Cowboys, formerly known as the Sugar Land Skeeters, became the Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros prior to the 2021 season, making them one of the closest minor league teams by distance to their Major League parent club. This new partnership ensures that the team has access to the latest in medical technology and practices as well as to providers who are well versed in caring for professional athletes.
Houston Methodist orthopedic surgeon Dr. David Lintner serves as the team’s medical director. He is joined by Dr. David Braunreiter, a primary care sports medicine specialist, and orthopedic surgeons, Drs. Robert Jack and Kyle Borque. As part of the Space Cowboys partnership, we will be offering Houston Methodist employees discount tickets to all home games in select sections.
