Houston Methodist and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Community Art Project
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) and the Center for Performing Arts Medicine (CPAM) are partnering together to create a community art project all about YOUR growth this year.
The project is inspired by this image of Tiffany and Co. butterfly clips. They were designed after the wife of a silver mine owner traveled down to the bottom of the mine, saw the veins of silver encased in dirt and rock, and asked to have a “fine and memorable thing” created from it.
Just as these strong and beautiful objects were fashioned from a coarse and raw material found deep within the earth, our community has grown unified, compassionate, and strong after a difficult year of challenges and hardships.
If you have not received your butterfly, please reach out to Michelle Smith. You can turn these in throughout the week to Michelle Smith (2nd floor, Labor and Delivery) or to Morica Vincent in HR. They’ll also be in Brazos Pavilion Conference Room F on Friday, Sept. 4 to between 10 and 11 a.m.
The MFAH will create an original piece of artwork based on the inspirational words from you. Be a part of the art!
