Complete New Blood-Borne Pathogen in LMS by March 24

FEBRUARY 23, 2023 — Houston Methodist is focused on patient safety and employee safety. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) recently updated its guidelines on Blood-Borne Pathogen Exposure Education to include annual education for all health care workers. This year you will see two changes implemented to meet this requirement.

  • You have been assigned a specific Blood-Borne Pathogen Exposure LMS module that you will need to complete by Friday, March 24. If you were hired after July 1, 2022, this education was included in New Employee Orientation (NEO) and you will not be assigned the course at this time.
  • Blood-Borne Pathogen Exposure education will be a part of your annual FPR process starting in 2023 and moving forward.

You can access the course by logging in to MARS > LMS > My Leaning > Start Course in the box that says Blood-borne Pathogens and Exposure Control. Thank you for your cooperation and attention to completing the module.
