Deadline Update: Comfort and Safety Open Discussion Course for Nurse Leaders

Earlier this Spring, the System Patient Experience Department rolled out a virtual, instructor-led course for nurse leaders only (i.e., charge nurses, nurse managers, nurse directors, ACNOs/CNOs) called Comfort and Safety Open Discussion for Nurse Leaders. This course provides best practices on how to effectively reinforce learnings with nursing staff and focuses on sharing practical strategies on promoting accountability, taking action, mentoring, and providing coaching and feedback on rounds to enhance overall patient experience.  

Pre-requisite: completion of Comfort and Safety CBT (#1625005). CNE CEU Available. 

Deadline for completion has been extended to Friday, June 30th. Dates and time vary by entity, you are welcome to attend any offering offered across the system. If you are a nurse leader, please register and attend the Comfort and Safety Open Discussion Course. 

Houston Methodist is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 

Houston Methodist will award 1 nursing continuing professional development contact hour to those nurses who attend the activity in its entirety and complete the post activity evaluation. 

To register for the course, employees will:   

  • Log in to MARS 
  • Select the LMS SuccessFactors tile 
  • From the Learning Page, search for Comfort & Safety Rounds Open Discussion for Nurse Leaders (ID#1628007) 
  • Select the “See Classes” link 
  • Scroll and Select Preferred Course Date & Time 
  • Select “Register Now”
