Celebrating Traditional Indian Dance
Join the Asian Heritage employee resource group (ERG) and Houston Methodist Employee Wellness on August 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for the Naach (Dance) With Us event. The in-person and virtual movement workshop is open to all HM employees and provides an opportunity to learn about two classical Indian dance forms, Kathak and Bharatanatyam, while enjoying movement, music and the cultural experience with your colleagues. Young Professionals Host Ice Cream Social
Learn tips on staying motivated, managing stress, avoiding burnout and maintaining a healthy lifestyle when the Young Professionals ERG hosts an in-person and virtual Ice Cream Social on August 14 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Brazos (ABCD) at Houston Methodist Sugar Land. It is available via TEAMS. Those attending in-person can enjoy a variety of frozen treats during the workshop that will feature HM speakers, Sarah Rossi, MM, MT-BC, music therapist, Alexis Shorts, MPH, CHES, wellness coordinator, and Robert Vitela, MDiv, BCC, director, Spiritual Care and Values Integration. Panel Discussion Explores Interfaith Traditions
The 2023 Spiritual Diversity Speaker Series, presented by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and the Department of Spiritual Care & Values Integration, continues on August 21 with an interfaith panel discussion focusing on Bahai, Buddhist, Sikh and Zoroastrian faith traditions and their significance in the health care setting. The discussion will be held from noon to 1 p.m. in the HMRI Auditorium and will also be available via Livestream. The panel includes Houston business and community leaders Kai Dotiwala (Bahai), Kayvon Haghpeykar (Zoriastrian), Judge Manpreet Monica Singh (Sikh) and Raymon Tran (Buddhist).
