This morning you received a $1,000 bonus and an extra day of paid time off added to your balance as part of the Summer of R&R festivities.
Here are the eligibility rules for this R&R bonus and PTO:
- Executives, physicians, and employees with faculty-level benefits who do not receive systemwide bonuses are excluded.
- Employees must have been hired by June 1, 2021 and must be employed on July 2.
- Employees on leave of absence will be eligible to receive the payment and the PTO on July 2.
Additional details on PTO: Your extra hours of PTO won’t be on today’s paystub. But you are able to see them in LaborWorkx today. The hours will be visible on your July 8 paystub. As a reminder, the extra day of PTO will accrue hours in the same way that holiday PTO works, based on each employee’s standard hours.
Additional eligibility rules for the bonus: Employees who are PRN are required to have worked 100 hours between Jan. 3, 2021, and June 5, 2021. Your employee status (full-time/part-time or PRN) as of June 6, 2021, will determine eligibility.
Additional eligibility rules for the PTO: Only benefit eligible employees are eligible for the additional PTO day. (You must have standard hours of 20 or greater and not be temporary or PRN.) Your benefit status and your weekly standard hours (benefits eligible or not benefits eligible) as of June 30, 2021, will determine eligibility and PTO hours awarded.
As a reminder, the Internal Revenue Service considers bonus payments to be supplemental wages and taxes are withheld at a flat rate of 22% in addition to regular Social Security deductions. If you owe arrears for benefits, tuition or parking, you will have an amount withheld for a portion of what you owe.
