Houston Methodist is extending COVID-19 testing for family members of employees and medical staff. Although it is best to celebrate holidays virtually this year, we realize that many of us will choose to celebrate the holidays with family and friends in a socially responsible way.
Family members that do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 can schedule an appointment for a COVID-19 PCR test without a physician’s order. Houston Methodist will submit the charge for the test to insurance or family members can self-pay with a credit or debit card ($77.50) at the time of service.
Again, this testing is only for asymptomatic family members. Anyone with symptoms should see their primary care provider or physician. Testing must be scheduled in advance by calling the specified number for this testing and selecting a site. Family members must sign up for MyChart and provide a cell phone number for contact and results.
