Our focus for October is – Improving Employee Engagement. This is the third goal of the hospital’s 3 Main Goals.
The Employee Engagement Goal Group has set a goal to reach the top 99% of Employee Engagement by the year 2020.
Some key priorities they are focusing on are:
- Talent Development
- 30-60-90 Day Reviews
- No Meetings Friday
- Leader Rounding
Employee Engagement is important to the hospital because it impacts:
- Recruitment – we are better able to recruit top talent
- Retainment – we are better able to retain high performing employees
- Patient Experience – when employees are engaged they are able to provide a better experience for patients
We all play a role in helping to improve employee engagement by learning from various activities such as the Pathway to Unparalleled, aligning our behaviors with our I CARE values and also holding each other accountable to the standards of our culture.
As a refresher, at our Town Hall Meetings earlier this year, we introduced 3 main goals/objectives. Over the last few months, we have been focusing on each of these three goals by sharing videos and having discussions at department meetings.
Focus by month:
- August: Improving Patient Outcomes
- September: Improving Operating Margin
- October: Improving Employee Engagement
It is important for ALL employees to understand the goals we are working towards and the purpose behind these goals, because we all play a role in the success of accomplishing them.
