I am excited to announce that Mary Harris, MSN, RN, CCRN-K, Magnet Program Director, has taken on an expanded role as the Director of Education. This leadership change will assist HMSL as we continue to grow and strive to achieve unparalleled health care.
I want to thank Tricia Lewis, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, CNML, for her years of leadership over the Educations Department. Since 2008, Tricia has been a huge contributor to our Education Department and she will continue to oversee the ICUs, Telemetry and special programs as well as be a resource for Mary in her expanded role.
Additionally, one of our 2020 strategies is to reduce length of stay. As a result, we have a strong focus to have case management work more closely with Med/Surg. Angela Chisholm MAHS, RN, Director of Case Management/Social Work, will report directly to Sally Shen, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, ACNO. This will ensure consistency, efficiency and an enhanced effective approach to achieve our 2020 goal.
