I am pleased to announce that Luis Garcia has been promoted to Director of Operations. In his new role, Luis will add operational responsibility for Imaging & Diagnostic Services, Food and Nutrition Services and Medical Staff Services to his current responsibility over Human Resources and Volunteer Services. With this expanded role, Luis will begin the recruitment process for a Manager of Human Resources.
Luis Garcia began his career with Houston Methodist in 2000 as an intern with the corporate Human Resources Department after completing his Bachelor of Healthcare Administration from Texas State University. His ability to navigate difficult organizational and leadership challenges led to his first management position at Houston Methodist Baytown where he served until 2005. In 2005, as HMSL was planning its first expansion, Luis was promoted to Director of Human Resources and Volunteer Services. For the last thirteen years, Luis has been integral in supporting our many expansions, employee engagement and strategic planning. Luis is a Senior Certified HR Professional with the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and he is currently enrolled in the MBA program at UH-Downtown with a concentration in Leadership.
