Magnet Mondays – Be There

June 10, 2019:  Are you ready for the fourth fishing practice?  The Magnet champions will finish up the book study, Fish! A proven way to boost morale and improve results by Stephen C. Lundin, et al. this month.

We’ve learned about “change your attitude, play and make their day.” The fourth fishing practice is “be there.”. Being there means being fully present and engaged in your work, looking for another opportunity to make someone’s day.  “Being there” is akin to mindfulness where we choose to increase our awareness of what is going on around us and being present in the moment, increasing our curiosity about the routine, everyday aspects of life and work.

I think this simple poem sums “Being There” up nicely:

The past is history

The future is a mystery

Today is a gift

That is why we call it the present.
