December 17, 2018 – I hope you took time to reflect on the gifts of commitment, engagement, passion and initiative. These are powerful gifts that keep us fully present. Today I’d like to focus on the gifts of stewardship and belonging. Stewardship is effectively shepherding limited resources and using our talents to their full potential. We’ve talked a lot this year about our reimbursement environment and how costs are increasing while reimbursement is shrinking. Our team has done an amazing job of identifying cost-saving measures that have positively impacted our bottom line. How are you being a good steward of your talents? Are you effectively managing your own resources of time, energy, money and intellect?
Belonging is a gift we give each other by making others feel included. We all have stories of how it feels to be left out. Let’s make a commitment to include others. Use the 10/5 rule when passing someone in the hall. Take time to get to know each other. Invite someone you don’t know to have lunch with you. The little things can make a big impact in someone else’s life when we help others belong.
