December 24, 2018 – During the month of December we’ve reflected on the gifts of commitment, engagement, passion, initiative, stewardship and belonging and the impact giving and receiving these gifts can have on ourselves, our families, our organization and community. On this day before Christmas, I’d like to reflect on two final gifts, the gifts of fellowship and pride. Fellowship is defined as a group of people who join together for a common purpose and shared interests. Fellowship instills a feeling of friendship, belonging and inclusion. How do you experience the gift of fellowship in your unit/department?
The final gift is pride. Pride is the culmination and outcome of the seven gifts. Merriam-Webster says it best, “pride is delight or elation arising from some act, possession or relationship.” What makes you proud of Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital? What makes you proud about yourself? What makes you proud of your co-workers, family and friends? Take the time today to tell someone what you are proud of. Take the time to create an atmosphere of fellowship.
Wishing you a blessed holiday season!
