October 5, 2020 – We all have a choice about which lens we use to view life. One powerful lens is “hope”. Dictionary.com defines hope as, “the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.”
Hope is a muscle that can be developed and strengthened by choosing to focus on the positive aspects of life. When things are going badly, hope chooses to focus on what is going right and look for ways to make the future better.
Think of hope as “changing the channel” in your mind from negative to positive. One powerful practice is to write a permission slip for yourself to find the good in a situation. I’m giving myself permission this month to stop and choose to see each situation through the lens of hope.
