March 30, 2020: What have you learned from the past few weeks? Have you learned that you are stronger and braver than you thought? Have you learned that you are a problem solver, quick thinker, encourager, comforter, expert, resource person, and change agent? How are you handling stress? Are you taking time to renew? Do you make sure to get enough sleep, get more exercise, eat nutritious, healthy foods, and laugh?
The beauty of laughter is that it changes the chemistry in our bodies, so we experience happiness. I learned about laughter yoga at a conference earlier this year. One of the laughter yoga practices has participants start by smiling at each other, then slowly begin to laugh with a gentle chuckle. Everyone increases the intensity of the laugh until you are all belly laughing, then you gradually bring the laughter down to a smile. I hope you try this and see how laughing makes you feel better and smile longer.
