On Feb. 13, Houston Methodist Virtual Care was renamed to be called Houston Methodist Virtual Urgent Care. You can expect the same excellent care you’ve received – 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on demand and with no appointment. Please download the new MyMethodist app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store then choose “Houston Methodist Virtual Urgent Care” from the virtual health care menu to enroll.
If you have used Houston Methodist Virtual Care before, please use your existing username and password to log in to Houston Methodist Virtual Urgent Care. The new MyMethodist app replaces the current Houston Methodist Virtual Care app. We encourage all employees to download the new MyMethodist app and delete the old Houston Methodist Virtual Care app.
The video visits will continue to be free for Houston Methodist employees and their family members insured by the Houston Methodist Medical Plan. Employees not on our plan can use the service for $49 a visit. The service will continue to be staffed by Houston Methodist providers and providers from Amwell.
For video visits, Houston Methodist employees should select “HM Employee Medical Plan” from the drop-down on the insurance screen in the “About You” section, then enter their member ID displayed on their Houston Methodist insurance card in the appropriate section (subscriber ID). Then select any available provider. For subsequent visits just log in and choose an available provider. Please consider leaving a review of the app after you use it.

As a reminder, Virtual Urgent Care providers treat non-emergent conditions such as sore throats, pink or red eyes, rashes, sinus infections, cold sores and allergies. You must be at least 18 to establish an account with Houston Methodist Virtual Urgent Care. Providers can see insured family members as young as 2. If you pay to insure dependents 18 or older, they will need to establish their own account.
