October 22-26 is National Spiritual Care Week. At Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, the Spiritual Care and Values Integration Team is privileged to serve our hospital and community in a wide variety of ways. Here are just a few examples from 2018 so far:
- 5 full-time and 2 part-time Chaplains, Operations Program Analyst, 5 PRN Chaplains, and 49 Spiritual Care Volunteers
- 39,388 spiritual care patient interventions
- 981 Advance Directive education and completion initiatives
- 7,525 staff support interventions
- 24/7/365 On Call coverage for hospital emergencies
- Community Breast Cancer Support Groups
- Community Grief Support Groups and Powerful Tools for Caregivers
- Brand new Clinical Pastoral Education Residency Program
- Day 1 New Employee ICARE Orientation for every new and transferred employee plus new contract associates and volunteers
- 30/60/90 Day New Hire Employee Engagement initiatives
- 42 Music at Methodist Performances
- Prayer for Tuesday email for all employees and volunteers
- Catholic Mass in partnership with St. Laurence Catholic Church
