New Magnet Program Director

AUGUST 11, 2022 —  It is my pleasure to announce Whitney L. Adams, DNP, RN, CE, NPD-BC, recently joined Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital (HMSL) as Magnet Program Director.

Whitney is a nurse leader with over 12 years of progressive leadership experience in both hospital and academic settings and comes to HMSL from Duke University Health System’s Duke Regional Hospital.

Whitney has earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Western Carolina University, a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nursing Education from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mobile. She is Board Certified in Nursing Professional Development and Certified Emergency Nurse. Additionally, Whitney is certified as an American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor and Basic Life Support Instructor.

Please join me in congratulating Whitney as she begins serving in this new role.

I send my sincerest thanks to Mary Harris for leading HMSL in this role for the last six years and her dedication to leading HMSL towards a Magnet designation and re-designation. She will continue serving in her position as our Clinical Education Director.
