Norma Yeverino, SHRM-CP, Director of HR & Volunteer Services

I am pleased to announce that Norma Yeverino, SHRM-CP, is being promoted to director of Human Resources and Volunteer Services, effective immediately.

Since joining Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital in December 2018 as manager of Human Resources, Norma has done an outstanding job of leading our team of HR coordinators, specialists, recruiters and generalists. Norma is an experienced HR leader, having spent 14 years in health care human resources prior to joining HMSL. Norma will report directly to me.

Also effective immediately, Luis Garcia will transition his Human Resources and Volunteer Services responsibilities to Norma. As director of operations, he will assume responsibility for the Environmental Services (EVS) and Transportation department. Luis has worked closely with the EVS/Transportation team for many years as part of his previous role in human resources. Luis’ scope of responsibility also includes imaging, food and nutrition and medical staff services. Luis will report directly to Eliud Faz, chief operating officer.

Luis has helped steer our organization through an incredible period of growth, providing a steady hand and sound counsel as HMSL has grown from 54 beds to a 347 bed regional medical center.
