Pharmacy Residency Program

Houston Methodist Sugar Land Department of Pharmacy Services is excited to announce its Post Graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency Program. Through a unique combination of individually tailored clinical experiences and research endeavors, residents will have the opportunity to develop clinical, teaching, and leadership skills, and give our patients the Houston Methodist experience. After a year of advanced training, our residents will contribute to the expansion of the medical and pharmacy literature, and the growth of the pharmacy profession.

Highlights of the program

  • First Houston Methodist Pharmacy Residency Program outside of the academic center
  • One of only 7 other Pharmacy Residency Programs in Houston area Community hospitals
  • First Pharmacy Residency Program in Fort Bend County
  • Total 249 Doctor of Pharmacy applicants for 2 Resident positions

Resident biographies

Cylene is originally from the Houston area, but spent her pharmacy school career in Nashville, TN at Belmont University College of Pharmacy. Her current practice interests include internal medicine, infectious disease, and critical care. She plans to pursue a PGY2 residency position next year. During her free time, she enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She just got a corgi puppy named Apollo that has joined her family’s pets, Athena and Zeus.

Cylene Talabucon, PharmD Shireen Rasheed, PharmD

Shireen grew up in Canton, Michigan, before moving to Katy, Texas in 2013. She graduated from Texas A&M University Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2021. Her current practice interests include internal medicine, transitions of care, and infectious disease. She hopes to pursue a PGY2 residency position in the following year. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, reading, kickboxing, painting, and spending time with friends and family.

Our first ever Pharmacy Residents are excited to begin this one-year journey learning alongside pharmacists, providers, and nurses.
