MARCH 10, 2022 — Sunyoung Park was announced as the DAISY Award recipient for Q3 of 2021. It was presented on March 8, 2022.
Sunyoung works in the infusion center and was nominated by, not one, but two patients. This is what they had to say about her:
“This is treatment #5. When a patient is first told they have Cancer that’s shocking enough to deal with in itself. I met this nurse on my first visit to the Infusion Center. I was very nervous and afraid of the pain and experience I would be faced with for 6 Chemo treatments ahead of me, but I was ready to take on the challenge. This nurse was kind, friendly, happy, professional, and informative always smiling and willing to help. My nurse explained everything to me to let know what is happening before anything was done to me. I feel very relaxed and confident with this nurse’s service. From the bottom of my heart thank you. Keep up the good work.”
“Words cannot express how I feel about this nurse, but I will try. This nurse has been my infusion nurse on many occasions during my journey. On each occasion my nurse has been professional beyond measure and just about the friendliest nurse on the floor. This nurse is compassionate, caring, understanding and a great person. This nurse meets the criteria for a Daisy Award because I feel God puts certain people in your life for a reason and my nurse is a blessing from him. Everything procedurally, I believe has been done according to the way it should be and this nurse makes me comfortable every time. A Daisy Award is not enough but it’s a start. God bless this nurse and Methodist and all its staff for all that they do, but particularly my nurse.”
Sunyoung was celebrated by her team and managers, who managed to pull off another surprise: having her husband in attendance for the award. Congratulations, Sunyoung!
