Four employees from each of the service lines (Ambulatory Surgery, Emergency Department, Inpatient Services and Outpatient Services) have been named as a “Star of the Month” in recognition for their commitment to our patients and I CARE values. These employees have been selected based on outstanding patient comments and feedback received. Each month we will alternate between featuring employees who received exceptional recognition from one of our various surveys (NRC Survey, RealTime, CONNECT Discharge Phone Calls, MyRounding) and employees who have been noted as going above and beyond through feedback from the Service Quality team and Guest Relations rounds.
We are excited to showcase and recognize the amazing hard work that our employees deliver to our patients on a daily basis. Thank you for being a part of our journey to unparalleled.
Sanja Tait, AOD RN – Ambulatory Surgery
“I have had several surgeries at Methodist. I have always received wonderful care and attention from everyone involved. Sanja Tait, RN, prepped me for surgery. I have been to this hospital many times I have always received good service but this visit was an extraordinary one. Sanja has one of the nicest personalities I have ever seen. She was nice, friendly and very professional. She took the time to make sure that I felt safe and comfortable. On a scale of 0-10, I give her a 15. If I have to come back, I hope she will be the nurse to attend to me again.”
Felix Aguwa, 5W RN – Inpatient
One patient explained how appreciative she was of Felix. She said he was a very strong and proactive nurse. She said that he was very patient and kind and made sure that she understood everything before he left the room. He visited the room several times that morning (much more than any of the staff) but after the third time or so, he came back with another female nurse and said “I know that my accent is making it hard for you to understand me and for the patient’s safety and your comfort this is Angela and she will be taking over your husband’s care for the rest of the day”. She said it just blew her away that he would recognize that need to make them more comfortable. She said she hated to lose him as a nurse but it was so amazing that he took that action.
Some other comments we received about Felix were:
- “Talks to me on a professional level instead of talking down to me”
- “Outstanding, did an awesome job and stayed on top of everything”
- “Felix is “OUTSTANDING. He is really, really good”
- “Felix is a wonderful nurse, great care received”
- “Really stands out for providing excellent service”
Mark Achgill, EMT – Emergency Department
“This is our favorite hospital and hospital of choice. We love that we know so many folks here. But what is even more impressive is the fact that they remember us when we come in. When we came in through the ED just the other day there were many familiar faces but we were so impressed by Mark. He has such a warm welcome for my mother and daddy and he actually remembers us and personalizes the experience for my parents. It is so comforting and is such a valuable thing that cannot be found many places. You have many assets to your organization and Mark is definitely one of them.”
Christian Tan, Cat Scan Technologist – Outpatient Services
“I had a CT scan and iodine injection to determine a blockage in my right carotid artery. Christian was the gentleman who did the test and I want you to know how kind and instructive he was. He certainly put me at ease and I appreciate his professionalism along with his kindnesses. Please thank him for me.”
“My CT tech was Christian and he was both very solicitous of my comfort and very professional in his behavior. Your techs are always exceptional!”
