Stars of the Month – March

Four employees from each of the service lines (Ambulatory Surgery, Emergency Department, Inpatient Services and Outpatient Services) have been named as a “Star of the Month” in recognition for their commitment to our patients and I CARE values. These employees have been selected based on outstanding patient comments and feedback received. Each month we alternate between featuring employees who received exceptional recognition from one of our various surveys (NRC Survey, RealTime, CONNECT Discharge Phone Calls, MyRounding) and employees who have been noted as going above and beyond through feedback from the Service Quality team and Guest Relations rounds.

We are excited to showcase and recognize the amazing hard work that our employees deliver to our patients on a daily basis. Thank you for being a part of our journey to unparalleled.

Linda Hunter, RN – Ambulatory Surgery

One patient said Linda in the cath lab was an exceptionally good nurse. She explained everything and showed genuine concern for this patient. They commented that Linda was very genuine and absolutely stood out.

Mehreen Kaisani, RN – Inpatient

A patient stated, “I would just like to say that nurse Mehreen on the 4th floor is very very good. I’ve had a few hospital stays but by far she is the best nurse I have ever had. She thought out of the box to keep a dementia patient safe.”

“Mehreen was my mom’s nurse for one day during her eight-day stay. She took it upon herself to speak to the doctor and make sure this was the right path for my mom. She was not only a nurse but a champion/advocate looking out for my mom’s best interest. This is an extremely rare quality in nurses and stood out to us. Thank you Mehreen. Please look out for your patients because nurses know the patient the best sometimes,” said another patient.

Derek Shelton, RN – Emergency Department

Patients had the following things to say:

  • “Derek was very helpful at keeping everyone updated in the waiting room. He was awesome and very comforting.”
  • “The nurses, as well as the ER doctors, were the best I have ever experienced. They were quick, courteous and professional! I even remember the nurses’ names (Femma and Derek) they took amazing care of my son and am so very grateful.”
  • “Derek is a very kind and professional nurse and I really thank God for connecting my son to such a wonderful nurse.”
  • “He was pleasant, informative, compassionate and a joy to have as a nurse.”

Christina Soriana, RN – Outpatient

“I was so scared that the procedure (bone marrow biopsy) would be painful. They made sure that I received adequate meds and as a result, the experience was ‘a walk in the park.’ Christina stayed with me the entire time. I can’t thank her enough for her kindness and understanding of my fears. Thank you for taking such good care of me! I will never be able to express my appreciation for the care that they provided. THANK YOU!,” said a patient.
