Stars of the Month – September

Four employees from each of the service lines (Ambulatory Surgery, Emergency Department, Inpatient Services and Outpatient Services) have been named as a “Star of the Month” in recognition for their commitment to our patients and I CARE values. These employees have been selected based on outstanding patient comments and feedback received. Each month we alternate between featuring employees who received exceptional recognition from one of our various surveys (NRC Survey, RealTime, CONNECT Discharge Phone Calls, MyRounding) and employees who have been noted as going above and beyond through feedback from the Service Quality team and Guest Relations rounds.

We are excited to showcase and recognize the amazing hard work that our employees deliver to our patients on a daily basis. Thank you for being a part of our journey to unparalleled.

Jennifer Ramirez, RN – Emergency Department

“Jennifer is an exceptional nurse. She was kind, considerate and compassionate toward an elderly patient. She exceeded routine care to ensure the comfort of the patient in a respectful and dignified manner. She is an asset to the hospital.”

Ebone Jones, RN — Brazos 5, Inpatient

• Ebone, was my nurse on the last two or three days at the hospital during the day was excellent. I was in a bad, dark place and she was so cheerful and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to help me and I just can’t say enough.
• Ebone Jones was fantastic as were all of the nurses and the PCA’s and the hospitalist. I had a wonderful stay and I couldn’t be more proud to be a Houston Methodist Sugar Land volunteer.
• She was excellent and my husband really appreciated all the health care she gave him. We transitioned smoothly thanks to her help and got to the bottom of what was wrong. You can’t ask for more than that. It’s a great hospital, great people; very wonderful people. Thank you.

Daniela Suarez, RN — Infusion Center, Outpatient

“My nurse, Daniela Suarez, is an AMAZING NURSE! She has a wealth of information for me, other patients and as well as other staff members. Daniela Suarez is loving, kind, caring, funny, and compassionate with everyone she comes into contact with. More nurses like Daniela Suarez should work throughout the Houston Methodist System! Daniela Suarez and all the other nurses and staff members make the infusion center an AWESOME and manageable place in such difficult times for the patients.  THANK YOU Daniela Suarez and infusion center employees for everything!”

Fredy Benitez, Endoscopy Tech – Ambulatory Surgery

“I want to recognize a superb employee, Fredy Benitez.” A patient said she walked her friend out to the parking lot after she visited with her mother, but the friend’s car would not start. Fredy was getting off of work and walked over to ask if they needed help. When they told him what was wrong, he went inside to place a call to security so they could bring over jumper cables. He had to come back out because he forgot to see what type of car she was driving and then went back in to complete the call. When he returned, he let them know that security was on the way but that he was going to wait with them until security arrived. She said she was so happy that he went out of his way to go back to the hospital after getting off, but then to come back out and wait with them was just amazing. While they were waiting, the friend was able to get her car started and they all left. The patient said she is still touched by his care and that she was so moved. “He is exactly the type of person that should work in a hospital.”
