The number of patients with COVID-19 in our hospitals continues to increase. Read Dr. Rob Phillips’ email about masks, visitors and PPE. It is more important than ever that you not come to work if you are feeling sick.
Review the symptoms of COVID-19 below:
- Have you had a fever of 99.6 or higher within the last three days
- Are you experiencing any coughing, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath
- Are you experiencing any nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
- Any dysgeusia (loss of sense of taste)
- Any anosmia (loss of smell)
If you have any of these symptoms immediately before your next scheduled shift, you should observe normal department call-off procedures to request unscheduled PTO due to illness. If the symptoms occur while you’re already at work, notify your supervisor, leave work immediately, and contact Employee Health for return to work instructions. Do not return to work until medically cleared by your treating provider and Employee Health.
When you come to work sick, you are not demonstrating your I CARE values of respect, compassion, accountability or excellence. The risk of passing on your illness to co-workers or to one of our patients outweighs the benefit of any work you would perform.
