Follow Up to UnitedHealthcare Announcement

As a follow up to Dr. Boom’s announcement about UnitedHealthcare, we want to emphasize that there will be no change or disruption to our Houston Methodist Employee Health Plans.

Our employee medical plan is self-insured, which means that we have great flexibility in the hospitals and doctors included in our plan. By being self-insured, we can operate our plan according to our own needs.

Therefore, if our United contract ends, there will be no disruption to your coverage or your network. Your network options will remain unchanged, meaning Houston Methodist facilities and doctors along with the current UHC Network (including Texas Children’s Hospital) will be available to you regardless of what happens with the ongoing negotiations.

If you have any specific questions, please reach out to your care advocates at Quantum at 888.978.7977.
