For the safety of our staff, physicians and patients, we are implementing more restrictive visitor hours.
- No “new” visitors after 7 p.m. The main entrances close at 7 p.m. and at that time, the Main and Brazos Pavilion elevators will also be restricted to help with any movement to the nursing units. The cut off for entry to the units will help the ED have a clear time by which they can give a hard “no” for new attempts at admission.
- At 7:30 p.m. a house-wide announcement will go out from PBX informing visitors that “visitation hours are ending in 30 minutes.” Visitors can begin preparing for their departure. Another announcement indicating the end of visitation will happen at 8 p.m.
- Please update Epic with the authorized visitors for the STAY. The front desk has experienced many inconsistencies and exceptions made by units allowing someone to switch out in extenuating circumstances. The front desk is 100% on board with allowing exceptions but it would be more cohesive if the information was in the notes. This eliminates perceived inconsistency between the front desk and the patient care areas. This will also help eliminate phone calls.
- ICU and Childbirth Center visitors will be managed locally by units to educate visitors on their applicable cut-off times, modified visitation, etc. Updates to Epic should still be done for cohesion across the campus and ease of visitor validation.
- Wristbands are still a good visual indicator of approved visitors, please be on the lookout for non-patients on the units without a wrist band.
Thank you for your help in keeping our campus safe.
