
Houston Methodist welcomes board-certified surgeon Michelle O’Shea, M.D., to its medical staff. She joins Sandra Templeton, M.D., at Houston Methodist Breast Surgery Partners at Sugar Land.
O’Shea comes to Houston Methodist from Hackensack Meridian Health’s Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, N.J., where she served as medical director of breast services and as a member of the hospital’s cancer committee.
She earned her medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ-New Jersey Medical School in Newark. She completed a residency in general surgery at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., where she focused on breast surgery and breast disease. She also has significant post-graduate training in advanced breast ultrasound and biopsy techniques.
O’Shea has been named in New Jersey Top Doctors in multiple years, received the Emerging Physician Leader award from Newton Medical Center, the Distinguished Alumna award from her Alma Mater the College of St. Elizabeth, a Mosaic Award from the community organization Project Self Sufficiency and has been named Most Compassionate Doctor.

O’Shea and Templeton specialize in oncoplastic procedures; skin-sparing mastectomies; nipple-sparing mastectomies; wireless tissue targeting for partial mastectomies/lumpectomies; hidden scar techniques; treatment of benign breast disease; and risk reduction for high-risk patients.

Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital also welcomes board-certified interventional cardiologist, Rasi Wickramasinghe, M.D., who joins Toussaint Smith, M.D., and Sherman Tang, M.D., at Houston Methodist Cardiology Associates in Sugar Land.
Wickramasinghe earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, followed by his medical degree and PhD from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine at the Osler Medical Service of Johns Hopkins Hospital. He later completed fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology and structural heart disease at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Wickramasinghe has a special interest in coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease and in structural heart disease interventions. He also specializes in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography in addition to interventional cardiology.
