Welcome Drs. O’Shea and Rasi

Michelle O’Shea, M.D.

Houston Methodist welcomes board-certified surgeon Michelle O’Shea, M.D., to its medical staff. She joins Sandra Templeton, M.D., at Houston Methodist Breast Surgery Partners at Sugar Land.

O’Shea comes to Houston Methodist from Hackensack Meridian Health’s Mountainside Medical Center in Montclair, N.J., where she served as medical director of breast services and as a member of the hospital’s cancer committee.

She earned her medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ-New Jersey Medical School in Newark. She completed a residency in general surgery at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., where she focused on breast surgery and breast disease. She also has significant post-graduate training in advanced breast ultrasound and biopsy techniques.

O’Shea has been named in New Jersey Top Doctors in multiple years, received the Emerging Physician Leader award from Newton Medical Center, the Distinguished Alumna award from her Alma Mater the College of St. Elizabeth, a Mosaic Award from the community organization Project Self Sufficiency and has been named Most Compassionate Doctor.

“I am excited to join Houston Methodist Sugar Land and work alongside Dr. Templeton at Houston Methodist Breast Surgery Partners,” said O’Shea. “Compassion and reassurance have always been key elements of my practice because they are so important to patients who are navigating a breast cancer diagnosis. I know those values are shared by everyone at Houston Methodist Sugar Land, and I’m looking forward to being part of the team and providing the best possible care to my patients.”

O’Shea and Templeton specialize in oncoplastic procedures; skin-sparing mastectomies; nipple-sparing mastectomies; wireless tissue targeting for partial mastectomies/lumpectomies; hidden scar techniques; treatment of benign breast disease; and risk reduction for high-risk patients.

Houston Methodist Breast Surgery Partners is located at 16659 Southwest Fwy. in Medical Office Building 2, Suite 561, on the Houston Methodist Sugar Land campus. To make an appointment with O’Shea, call Houston Methodist Breast Surgery Partners at 281.724.4276.

Rasi Wickramasinghe, M.D.

Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital also welcomes board-certified interventional cardiologist, Rasi Wickramasinghe, M.D., who joins Toussaint Smith, M.D., and Sherman Tang, M.D., at Houston Methodist Cardiology Associates in Sugar Land.

Wickramasinghe earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, followed by his medical degree and PhD from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine at the Osler Medical Service of Johns Hopkins Hospital. He later completed fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology and structural heart disease at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Wickramasinghe has a special interest in coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease and in structural heart disease interventions. He also specializes in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography in addition to interventional cardiology.

“Since its first open-heart surgery in 2007, the Houston Methodist Heart & Vascular Center at Sugar Land has developed a much-deserved reputation for leading-edge cardiovascular care,” said Wickramasinghe. “The range of advanced cardiovascular procedures available at Houston Methodist Sugar Land is one of the major reasons the hospital has developed into a regional medical center, expanding its service area to treat patients from both Fort Bend and surrounding communities. I am excited to join Houston Methodist Cardiology Associates and work alongside Drs. Smith and Tang to continue that tradition of excellence.”

Wickramasinghe is located at the Houston Methodist Cardiology Associates office at 3527 Town Center Blvd. South, Sugar Land TX 77479. To make an appointment, call 346.900.8606.
