I am excited to announce that Eliud Faz has been named the new chief operating officer of Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, effective Oct. 14.
Eliud’s background and expertise are a good fit for our hospital, and I know that you will quickly see first-hand how his skills, insights and communication approach reflect that.
Eliud’s strengths include both organizational/service line growth as well as employee engagement and relationship-building. At each step in his career, he has created business opportunities, improved patient satisfaction and helped peers and direct reports develop new skills and achieve new career objectives.
Eliud comes to Houston Methodist Sugar Land with a great deal of awareness and understanding of our strengths and capabilities. He served as a Houston Methodist administrative fellow and as an eight-year member of the management team at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, where he eventually was named director of finance.
He then served as chief financial officer of United Surgical Partners International, where his responsibilities included all financial operations of three acute care surgical specialty hospitals, including Memorial Hermann Surgical Hospital-First Colony in Sugar Land.
In 2014, Eliud joined Memorial Hermann Health System (MHHS) as director of finance for the ambulatory service line divisions, and later served as assistant vice president of convenient care centers, joint venture partnerships and service lines. Most recently, he was vice president of finance for the system’s hospitals in Cypress and Katy, as well as the MHHS oncology service line.
Eliud has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Arizona and a Master of Science degree in Health Care Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio. He resides in Sugar Land with his family; wife, Andrea, and two sons, Mateo and Samuel.
I know you all will join me in warmly welcoming Eliud to our team!
