Welcome New Quality Director Lavinia Zanaj, DNP, MHA, RN, CPHQ

Please read the following message first sent as an email on January 9, 2023 from CMO S. Nicolas Desai, M.D.

It’s my pleasure to welcome Lavinia Zanaj, DNP, MHA, RN, CPHQ, to Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital as our new Quality Director.

Lavinia started her career at Houston Methodist at Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital as an ED registration and unit clerk in 1998. In 2004, she was hired by our very own Tricia Lewis as a student professional nurse in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit at Houston Methodist Hospital. Most of her clinical career has been in perioperative services, specifically post-anesthesia care. Lavinia has worked in various quality and performance improvement roles over the past twelve years. She is returning to the Houston Methodist family from Houston Physicians’ Hospital, where she served as the Quality Director for the past five years.

Lavinia lives in League City with her husband, four children and two dogs. She enjoys yoga and running, and she’ll be participating in her 10^th half-marathon next weekend. She also loves podcasts and audiobooks and is open to your listening recommendations for the commute to and from work.
