JANUARY 16, 2023 — HMSL is excited to welcome three interns for the spring semester. Read more about them and their work below and please give them a warm welcome as you see them.
Malik K. Tousant – Marketing Department
Born in Chicago, Illinois, my family moved to Houston when I was 6 years old. I am now a senior at Texas State University and on pace to receive my bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration. Some of my hobbies include working out, attending sports events, and spending time with family. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to intern at the Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. After researching, I found the care offered and the core values of the hospital align with my own. I admire putting the patient first and taking accountability for actions while providing quality health care. I am excited to be a part of such a great organization and the chance to learn from sincere health professionals while contributing with my own knowledge.
Richard Eke – Administration Department
I was born and raised in Houston. After three years of studying at Texas State University, I will be completing my Bachelor of Health Care Administration Residency at Houston Methodist Sugar Land this spring. I am thrilled to be a part of the HMSL community. My favorite pastimes include golfing, cooking and working out. Health care has been a passion of mine for many years and with Houston Methodist giving me the opportunity to have hands-on experience, I am more than grateful to be learning under the industry’s leading medicine providers.
Lauren Burger – Operations Department
I am from Kingwood and graduating in May from Texas State University with a degree in Health Care Administration. My hobbies outside of healthcare include working out, being outside, and spending time with my two cats. I am excited about the opportunity to intern at Houston Methodist Sugar Land in the Operations Department. I am open to all learning experiences and eager to finally put my knowledge of health care administration to use. I look forward to beginning my journey with Houston Methodist Sugar Land!
